Join Weaver’s Way for their Third Annual Harvest on Henry Festival on Saturday, October 19 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Weavers Way’s Henry Got Crops Farm on the grounds of Saul Agricultural High School in Roxborough.
Fall Fun for the Whole Family!
This year’s Harvest on Henry is the biggest yet, with fun guaranteed for the whole family — hop a hayride and tour the Henry Got Crops CSA farm, get up close and personal with lambs, goats and cows, build a scarecrow or paint a pumpkin to take home! We’ll have lots of games and activities —Vegetable Car Racing, Pumpkin Golf, Pumpkin Bowling and Pumpkin Ring Toss, to name just a few.
There’s plenty to do, learn and eat! In fact, there will be stuff to do until the cows come home!
… and what’s new at the Festival this year is the udderly fantastic Cow Plop 50/50 Bingo. Human participants can buy a chance to win half the proceeds!
Calling All Bakers!
Our Pie Baking Contest will be jam-packed with fantastic pies from home bakers all over Northwest Philadelphia. Think winning First Place is just pie in the sky? Enter your blue-ribbon pie and compete for exciting prizes! Read the rules and register here.
Saul students can enter the Pie Baking Contest for free. Email firstname.lastname@example.org and be sure to include your name, address, student ID and type of pie you’re submitting.
In addition to classic harvest festival fare — from apple cider and apple cider donuts to all kinds of pies — you’ll be able to try treats from Street Food Philly and Little Baby’s Ice Cream. They will be donation 10 percent of their proceeds to Weavers Way Farms, so chow down!
Weavers Way Talent Coordinator Norman Weiss will be programming a continuous lineup of brilliant musicians from near and far.
Help Farmer Nina press apples into cider, pedal your way to a healthy bike blender smoothie and learn how to spin wool!
Vendors and Info Booths!
We Bee Brothers will be on hand with local honey. Buy some apples to take with you too!
Admission is free; purchase activity/game tickets at the entrance. All proceeds go to Weavers Way Farm operations.
Henry Got Crops! CSA Farm is at Saul Agricultural High School, 7100 Henry Ave. in Roxborough. Parking is free along Henry Avenue; the Route 27 bus stops right in front of the farm.
