The Art of Affogato

The word “Affogato” means “drowned” in Italian (or so says this wiki). This same wiki goes on to describe this word to stand for “a coffee-based beverage”. We at Little Baby’s Ice Cream went to One Shot Coffee to explore the possibilities of this word. We have a lot of questions! How do you order one? Do you ask “Can I have an Affogato?” Or, since Wiki described it as “a coffee-based beverage”, do you ask “Can I have an Espresso Affogato?” But! since the word supposedly means “drowned” and the scoop of gelato or Ice Cream is the thing being drowned, do you ask “Can I have a scoop of Ice Cream Affogato?” OR FURTHERMORE Since there are many flavors of Ice Cream, do you go right for the flavor name e.g. do you ask “Can I have a Coffee Toffee Affogato?”
